Finding your voice, your identity, your direction.

A six-month coaching journey for women in transition.

You don’t recognize your own life anymore.

The role ended. The marriage ended. The body changed. The person you used to be doesn’t fit anymore, and the person you’re becoming hasn’t arrived yet.

This is the work of shedding and rebirth. You don’t have to do it alone.

Maybe you’re in one of these:

  • A separation or divorce that’s left you rebuilding from scratch
  • Menopause, or an early hysterectomy, has reshaped your body, your moods, and your sense of self
  • An empty nest, a career ending, a parent’s death: a chapter closing without a clear next one
  • A quieter, harder-to-name feeling that the life you built isn’t quite yours anymore

Whatever brought you here, the experience underneath is often the same:

You’re shedding a version of yourself, and you don’t yet know who you’re becoming.

That in-between is disorienting. Uncomfortable. And, somehow, sacred.

I don’t help women escape the discomfort. I help them learn to live inside it, long enough for what’s true to surface. Long enough for their voice, their identity, and their direction to find their way back.

The horses are with us throughout. They’ve been teaching me this passage for twenty years.

What this work is

I’m not here to fix you. There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re in a transition that asks more of you than the old tools can handle.

What I offer is a different kind of conversation. One that draws on learning from horses about presence, emotion, body wisdom, and what’s actually happening beneath what we say.

Horses don’t perform. They don’t pretend. They don’t wear masks; they show us what’s behind them. They respond to what’s true. Working with their wisdom — through coaching cards, through metaphor, through the way I’ve learned to listen — gives us a way to cut through the noise and meet what’s really going on.

You don’t need to know anything about horses. You just need to be ready to shed the armor.

“I’ve had a coach for years, and I can’t imagine my personal or professional life without one.”

– Brené Brown, Strong Ground, 2025

How I see you

When a woman comes to me, I don’t see a problem to solve. I see a whole being: her body, her mind, her soul, the life she’s lived, the people she’s loved, the stories she’s carried, the silences she’s held.

Coaching her thoughts alone won’t transform her life. So I work with all of her, because all of her is what showed up.

Anchored: The journey

Six months. Twenty-four weekly conversations. One woman, finding her way home to herself.

The journey unfolds in three phases. They’re not steps to complete; they’re seasons to live through.

Phase One: Shedding (Months 1-2)

The Voice work begins.

“Whose voice have you been living by? And what does yours actually sound like underneath?”

Most women in transition don’t realize how many of the voices in their head aren’t theirs. Mother’s voice. Husband’s voice. The culture’s voice. The voice of who she was supposed to be. Shedding begins with separating her voice from all the voices she’s been carrying.

By the end of these eight weeks, she can begin to distinguish her own voice from the voices around her. She doesn’t yet trust it, but she can hear it.

Phase Two: The In-Between (Months 3-4)

The Identity work deepens.

“You’re not who you were. Not yet who you’re becoming. The threshold is where your real identity is forming, if you can stay in it long enough.”

This is the phase most coaching programs rush through, and most women try to escape. The “I don’t know who I am anymore” phase. My work here is to help her stay because identity isn’t found by sprinting toward a new version of herself. It’s found by sitting in the uncertainty until the truer self surfaces.

Horses know this passage. They live it twice a year, every year. The old coat releasing in patches, the new one growing in underneath, both coexisting for weeks before either is fully one or the other. It’s messy. It’s uncontrollable. Yet gentle. It’s the body that knows the timing. The mind has to learn to trust it.

By the end of these eight weeks, she begins to know what’s actually hers: not as a new identity to perform, but as a truer one to inhabit.

Phase Three: Becoming (Months 5-6)

The Direction emerges.

“From the woman you now know yourself to be, what life is actually yours to build?”

The path doesn’t appear before the woman is ready to walk it. By Phase Three, she has done the harder work. She knows her voice. She knows what’s hers. Now the direction becomes obvious. It wasn’t handed to her. She can finally see it from where she’s now standing.

This phase closes with a letter reflecting on her journey. It’s hers to keep.

Ph. Amélie Bourdon, 2019

“Since the beginning of time, transformation has been a story of death and rebirth. There is no consultancy PowerPoint or team of strategic advisers that will deliver you from the reality that transformation means walking through the darkness of the tomb and the darkness of the womb. The tomb is the dying of old systems and ways of working, [“old self”], and the womb is the darkness of rebirth. The challenge is that darkness is darkness, and it’s sometimes impossible to tell where you are in the process.”

Meet Laura

I’m Laura. I’ve spent more than two decades studying horses, behavior, and what they teach us about being human. I coach women through the unraveling and rebuilding seasons of midlife: separation, menopause, identity shifts, the moments when the old life no longer fits, and the new one isn’t built yet.

I work with clients around the world from a quiet corner of the Argentine countryside, where the horses have been my partners and lifelong companions. I speak English, French, and Spanish. Sometimes a woman can only say the truest thing in the language she grew up speaking. I bring all of who I am to the women I work with.

I came to this work by living it. Some years ago, I shed a life on one continent and started a new one here, with the horses. New language, new landscape, new self. They walked it with me. They still do.

“I listen the way I learned to listen to horses: to the whole being at once. Mind, body, soul, breath, presence. A woman is no different.”
- Laura Bruno

A different way in

Not every woman who finds this page is ready for six months of deep work. And that’s okay. There is more than one way to begin.

Amazorras is my monthly women’s circle, returning in September 2026. A gathering for women in midlife transition who want to learn an equine-assisted way of seeing their own lives, and to be witnessed in the process.

Each month, the horses teach us something. They are masters of emotion: they read what’s true, recover from what’s hard, belong without performing, and stay true to themselves under pressure. The skills they live by are the ones most of us need now: emotional intelligence, resilience, presence, and the ability to belong without losing yourself.

I bring you what the horses have been teaching me for twenty years, and we apply it to whatever each woman is moving through. Some get coached on the call. All of us learn from each other.

$125/month · One 90-minute monthly call · Private community between calls · Monthly reflection prompts.

How to begin

If something on this page found you, here’s how it works:

  • Tell me a little about yourself. Fill out a short application. It takes about 10-15 minutes. It helps me understand where you are and whether Anchored is right for you.
  • We have a conversation. A free 45-minute Zoom call. It’s not a sales call; it’s a real conversation about what you’re moving through. You’ll know after we speak whether this is your work right now.
  • You take time to decide. No pressure. Sit with it for a few days. If it’s a yes, you’ll let me know, and we’ll begin.

Between who you were and who you're becoming, there is a path.
I'd be honored to walk part of it with you."
